A few photos from the meeting. I had a a good weekends racing, qualifying further up the grid than I should have with a wet qualifying on the Friday. It dried out for the rest of the weekend and I spend the rest of the time trying to stop faster cars passing me !! But I did my fastest time around the Island in 21 years, my best is 1:59 done in 2019 and I did 2:02 this year. The car and track surface is about 5 or 6 seconds faster than it was in 2019 and I am around 6 or 7 seconds slower. Unfortunately the next meeting at Winton has been cancelled due to Corona Virus so a long time now between races - but more time to spend in the Garage fitting my new adjustable upper front links from Elantrikbits for some more neggy and to try A-050R soft compound ( rather than the medium that I have been using) and trying out my new camber and caster gauge

Dear Rohan you spoke of A 050 R ....it means that this tyre (yokohama road legal I suppose) exists in elan size to fit a 6 x 13 wheel because here in Europe it does not (yet)...I am very interested because in our race series road tyre with DOT or E label is mandatory...Which size are you using...?
Best regards

Not possible to end up in the ocean but its a nice view out to sea down the main straight and around southern loop .... if you have time to look for it which I don't
I use 175 / 60 x 13 on 5.5 inch wide wheels, they are road legal as my race class requires, but i don't think they have DOT certification marked as they are not sold in the US. I have not looked what certification is on them but will tonight and post it.
cheers

Photos of the various markings on my Yoko A-050R soft compound. I cant see anything I recognises as a DOT or Eu certification but they are road legal here in Australia and I presume also Japan. In my category there is a list of approved road legal treaded radials of which Yoko A-050R is one and this appears to work the best for most cars as 80% in my category would use it. Hoosier have a new range which some of the Porsche and Mustang and Corvette guys are now using and I may give a try when I wear out these.
Interesting bar code in rubber on the tyre, clearly easily interchangeable in the mould along with the compound type. i wonder what it says?
cheers

Dear Rohan I thank you for kindness and for explanations and photos Unhappily We are not allowed to use tyres without European community approval for road use ...That means that tyre is marked with a big E....plus one figureas shown on photo I join and for one mysterious reason yokohama does not trade A 050 in europe in sizes under 15 inches diameter and theold A 048 are not any more road legal so we are obliged to use toyo or nankang which are a little be slower more or less 2 second in Spa Francorchamps for instance
Any way many thanks to have wet your back (belgian way of saying to have take time and effort to..)to help
