Competition Racing Plugs NGK B9EGV

My standard NGK BP8ES plugs were running hot - so I?m going to try the B9EGV competition plugs

Elfin Monocoque (Twin Cam)
Elfin Type 300 (Holbay S65 - 120E) mechanic

BP8ES plugs should be good for your engine, have you checked your mixtures on a dyno - you may be running lean at high revs ? What fuel are you running now since they banned Avgas ?

I was suffering from ignition breakdown at 6000 rpm, so have had Andrew Makin breath on the old Lucas distributor to optimize it, he's done a recurve as well as supplying a super duper condensor and improved the cap to lead connections and changed the coil from a GT 40 to a SU12.

It may be that the BP8ES plugs will feel more at home in that "new" environment.....
