Here's some additional Mid-Ohio views from Andy Nelson's fast Mini. This Swiftune Mini beat all but the Huffaker RWD Mini at the 2014 Mini Challenge when 50 Minis raced at Mid-Ohio with Nick Swift at the wheel.

The cornering ability of a racing Mini is just amazing. Andy filled my mirrors for 2 laps until his throttle cable broke. When entering a corner the laws of physics are momentarily suspended.

When we arrived at the Mid-Ohio Tech Inspection Garage on Friday we were greeted by Earl Myers. Earl is from the Cleveland area and raced an Elan in SCCA from the 1970's through the GT2 days of the late 1990's and early 2000's.

While it had been 40 years since my last time at Mid-Ohio Earl recognized my name and remembered the 1976 and 1977 Mid-Ohio SCCA National Races when I placed 3rd and 2nd respectively in C-Production.

Earl was back at the track on Saturday and gave me this photo of my Elan at the Mid-Ohio SCCA National in July of 1976.

Number 24 returns to Mid-Ohio June 2017.....
