The Oulton Park Gold Cup meeting will again take place over August Bank Holiday, with the usual mix of classic racing and saloon cars on track.
I organise on behalf of CLOG (cheshire lotus owners group)....a group outing
and again like every year since its revival we will be going to watch the classic open wheel and tintops race.........
HSCC 70's Road Sports Championship
HSCC Historic Road Sports Championship
HSCC Classic Sports Cars Championship
HSCC/HRSR Historic Racing Saloons
HSCC Historic Formula Ford Championship
HSCC Classic Racing Cars Championship
HSCC Derek Bell Trophy Series
HSCC Classic Formula 3 Championship
Historic Formula Junior
Jaguar XK
BRDC Historic Sports Cars
anyway its racing all weekend
In addition to the fabulous racing, we are hoping that you will once again join us in adding to the infield atmosphere that makes the event so special.
Everyone who is bringing a car for display will be entitled to a car pass, which will admit the driver free of charge. Any additional passengers will need to purchase tickets, priced ?20 per day. Children 12 and under go free.
Camping is available to purchase at ?20 per person (?15 in advance) regardless of length of stay.
Gates will open at 7am on each day.
Our criteria for the display area are fairly liberal, but please can you be sure that your cars are in spirit with the event.
please feel free to add your name to the list and PM me your details so that I can sort rendezvous, tickets, etc etc etc.....

I've sent you a couple of PMs but no reply - do you have any passes left for the Sunday?

Hope the Weather's kind to you & hope you all have a great time.

I'll be there in my Elan # 46 in Historic Roadsports. Debating whether to race the Red/White S4, or the Green/White S1. Oh how fortunate I am to have the choice. S1 is quicker, but I haven't driven the S4 since it was pummeled at Spa last October, so it might be nice to see how quick it is.
Tough decision. I'll look forward to seeing any of you there in the paddock Saturday or Sunday.

Have tickets for Sunday & Monday (booked before I saw this thread, sadly).
Never been to the circuit before, so any pointers as to the best place to view
etc etc would be much appreciated.
Now that the clutch is working, hopefully the Sprint will come too !!!
Have to park up with Joe Public I guess.
Regards,
Stuart.

I've been a few times and go somewhere on the straight before cascades (see map here: http://www.trackpedia.com/mediawiki/ima ... n_Park.jpg)
more or less opposite where it says "Dentons".
You get a decent view of cascades, and you can also see them coming through Hislops. It's also not far to walk to the paddock which is often the best part of the day.
I haven't tried anywhere else, however, so there will probably be other equally good or better recommendations.
