Hi all,
I have a friend in northern Italy who would like to build an Elan to race in the above category and would like to fit the Spyder chassis due to the indipendent rear supsension arrangement; can anyone tell me if this is possble ?
The event is historic and therefore the usual homologation rules should apply - I think??
Thanks

If I remember correctly cars in that catagory were built with sophisticated Formula 2 parts etc.(Engines, chassis & suspension) Only the basic external body shape had to be identifyable.
If that is the case then the Spyder set up would be permissible but I doubt if it would be that competetive when racing against what for all purposes are pure "Formula" cars with Elan bodies.
Your friend should get a set of the regulations to find out what is permitted.
I look forward to seeing those cars racing again; pure muscle
Cheers
John
