How much torque do the best camshafts produce days?

I'm planning on using a TILTON clutch with a 200 ft/lb capacity, I reckon that in an open wheeler, that it will be fine. I don't want to use a heavier clutch because besides being "heavier" I'd have to move the slave cylinder from a remote mounted one to a bobbin replacing one.

I think 200 ft/lb sounds plenty. You will be struggling to get 140 ft/lbs out of a 1600 twin cam

AP offer a few green rated (144-161 ft lb ) clutch assemblies, the most expensive (and I presume the lightest) is an A ring type with an alloy cover (that's 300 grams lighter than the same thing with a steel cover), the other type is a lug type (like the Tilton one that I've already got). The light weight AP one may get a run on the 90 tooth flywheel.

I recently did some back to back tests on 2 otherwise identical race engines one running 45DCOE's with 38 mm chokes and one running 36mm chokes and had no difference in maximum power output. I would only consider going to 38mm if you have a very light car (seven or open wheeler) as the risk of low speed response loss possibly balances any potential for top end gain.

I better get a set of 36s for mine - as John also recommends 36 and up for mine too.

I didn't realise that chokes in the odd sizes were offered these days, 37s and 39s are obtainable for 45 DCOEs in Melbourne at the moment.

Interesting - I could not get 33 or 35's in recent years .

Weber Performance are doing them - they may well be enlarging 36s.

I've had a set of 33s for DCOE 40s gathering dust for ages, but hadn't seen the odd sizes for the 45s.
