2024 Goodwood Members Meeting

I was fortunate enough to be at the Members Meeting on Sunday. As ever, a great show. I have given up on the Revival, having attended since it started (I live fairly locally) it has become too large and crowded, with the cars taking second stage to the retail outlets. The Members Meeting is much closer to the original concept.
The Graham Hill Trophy featured a number of Elans, all apparently 26Rs, though some were really GTS. In spite of being hundreds of HP down on other cars in the race, and Goodwood with its long fast straights not really being Elan territory, the Elans performed extremely well.
The link is to the livestream of Sunday, so the timings seem a bit odd. The Graham Hill Trophy starts at -5.44 (that's minus 5 hours, minus 44 minutes relative to the end of the live stream) - see edit below. There was a lot of in-car coverage from light blue Elan 333 which is worth watching if you have the time.

All of the Elans were very well presented, however to my amusement two of the cars appeared to have the spinners fitted to the wrong side of the car - as evidenced by the locking wire and centre clips on the hubs to keep the wheels on.
edit: I went back to check the link, and timing isn't static, something to do with it being a stream I guess. The Graham Hill trophy is approximately halfway through the overall programme if you search.
Andy.

My son and I were glued to the TV watching Race 9: S.F. Edge Trophy.
My son has worked on the Bianchi that was racing further down the pack.
He is an apprentice who goes to Bicester Heritage Skills academy. The owner of the local brewery "Wriggly Monkey" owns the car and lets the apprentices work on it.
