S1 perspex window and lifting mechanism

Has anyone a good method for keeping a perspex side window fixed into the channel at the base of the window that fits to the scissor mechanism.

double sided rubber tape is what I've used successfully.

I have 2 spare windows and window lift mechanisms. One has a Perspex window that has a rubber seal wrapped around and a series of holes drilled through with screws going through the channel and Perspex to hold it in place. It seems to work well and was in my car for the first year without any issues.

Thanks for the answers, have ordered some tape to try 1st , I did think of driling and fixing but was relectant to drill through the new channels which look like they are either galvanised or a zinc plated.

One other issue, what have you used to seal the between the top of the windscreen and the hardtop. I do not want to use duct tape as most race cars look like they use, I had a look at the Gold bug at Donnington and the gap was filled with some type of black mastic sealant but that would prevent easy removal of the hardtop.

I am in need of the lift mechanism you refer to. It is for an S2 but I believe that the part is the same.

I am also very much interested in the window frames that support the convertible top on the S2 and I presume the S1.

I am nearing completion on my ?lan and look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Andy
Not sure why you need a sealing strip, but if you contact Woolies they do a number of different profile rubber strips that may give you an adea or two. In particular there are a number of slightly different 'P' type profiles where the leg of the P comes in different widths and would perhaps enable you to cement them to either the hardtop or screen and leave the top of the roll part of the P to act as the seal.
