Hi

Stupid question but......

I want to drop the front end by around 30mm.

Can this be achieved by using cranked lower wishbones (like 26R) and if so, does this have a detrimental effect on the steering?
I am running on slicks and don't want to change tyre profile to achieve the change and am not able to relocate the height of the mountings.

Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The 26R cranked wishbones allow a lower ride height whilst retaining shock travel, with adjustable sping mounts you'd definitely be able to get 30M out.

A safety check is a check that the top ball joint on the upright has full range of free travel, we found when correcting the bump steering that they were binding on bump before full travel had been reached!

Also resetting the track rod end heights to correct bump steer, we made a post with shims and used high angluarity track rose joints instead of normal track rod ends.

I've run Elan on road with normal wishbones close to 15-20mm lower with no issues once bump steer was corrrected.
