Hi,
Which (if any) full cages can be fitted to a Sprint, please ?
It has an early Spyder chassis.
I would like to fit side impact protection bars (are these removable ?)
Does it involve removal of the body ?
Thanks,
Stuart.

In the UK there are 2 suppliers of roll cages that I know of, Tony Thompson and Kelvedon. Both cages are fitted inside the body which must be on the chassis. You have to cut out a hole in the inside of the rear arches to slide in the side intrusion bars , the holes can then be blanked off with an aluminium plate.
regards
Andy

Hi ,
Andy's reply was only on homologated roll cages ...
As far as I know , Spyder do its own , and it seems that only this one should be able to cope with your chassis ...
For the front cage , that could be tricky ...
Christian.

Don't fit if you're tall/long of leg and need the seats in the further back position. Good quality item, just get them to check the accelerator doesn't foul the footwell bar if you're fitting the SIPS.

Hi Stuart
I am running a Tony Thompson rear and side intrusion bar in my Sprint.
It was tricky to fit but is very snug and doesn't cause a problem with seats or feet (I am 6 feet tall).
I have since changed seats to a pair of leather Elise seats and they present no problem either.
Have fun
Gavin

One day I'll actually finish - completely - one day....
