Rear Anti-Roll Bar for the Elan

PostPost by: BRMLotusElan » Fri Nov 23, 2007 4:45 pm

I am looking for information on fitting a rear anti-roll bar to my 26R chassied Elan.

Can anyone help with diagrams, parts, information etc - I'm in the UK - West Yorkshire.

Regards

Dennis

I fitted one to my S2 many years ago when I was autocrossing. It was a bear to get in that small space between the frame and the body, but I eventually made it after exhausting my supply of profanities a couple of times. It should be a breeze if the body is off. Other than that, I can't be too much help - I did the job so long ago that I can't recall the exact process.

If you do use the rear bar, be sure to change the front one to a stiffer size. If you don't, the handling will be really squirrely.

I would imagine a rear bar gives more oversteer and you would have to adjust something else to balance it out. Some spyder chassis have rear ARBs. Can feel a rear ARB debate coming on... :)
