Just had a look on ebay and seen an Eclat for sale on an M reg. My Plus 2 is on an N reg and reged in Nov '74.
Is this right?
I have a document from Lotus giving me details of my car and some past history, saying that the info I have is correct.
When was the Eclat first on sale in the UK?
Can anybody shed any light?
Cheers Rich

The last Plus 2 rolled off the production line in February 1974. I know of at least one Plus 2 on a P plate and many on N plates.
The ?clat was introduced in 1974; I'm not sure when they first went on sale though. M reg plates went up to end Jul 1974. This one you have seen must be a very early one.

I had an 'N' reg for a while...I wonder if it's the same one??!!
I've only seen a couple around in years.

Just counted Mark. Out of 51 late Plus 2s that I have registered, 12 are on N plates.
I also have records of 2 on a P and 3 on R!

Some manufacturing/registration dates are easier to explain. My '70, +2S, carried "YRT614S while I lived in Suffolk in the late 70's. The original owner registered first under a different number in '70. He exported it to the US in '72 and brought it back in '75 with Florida plates. When I bought it and registered it, they wouldn't let me register it under the original number because it had been exported. Now it's been exported again. Looks like it's traveled about 52k miles by road and 17,600 by boat.
