130/5 (1974) - going from RHD to LHD

PostPost by: Blattmann » Mon Mar 02, 2009 10:03 am

More trouble.

The engine is only working on 3 cylinder. Took the spark plugs out and the one not working properly is a different type.
Does anyone know what is the recommended spark plug type for the 130/5 Big Valve engine?

Thanks.

Hello Rohan.

I can see some people are using NGK BP5ES to prevent foul.

Are you using BP6ES on yours? Are they ok? You don't have any miss firing when you step on the throttle?

Thanks.

I have found teh 6's to be perfect for my 'daily driver, occasionally stuck in traffic' use :)

If you have to go to BP5ES to prevent fouling in day to day driving then you probably have a carb problem (running to rich) or an engine wear problem (to much oil getting into the cylinders) - or you need to drive it harder
