Hi, you guys have started something now.
I had my first +2 when I was 22, and after 3 houses and 2 children I decided it was time for myself (Mid life crises? Maybe). After deciding that I was going to get another +2 I thought it would be good to restore my original so contacted the DVLA in the hope that they would tell if it was still on the road. They wouldn't give me any info.
After reading the last few posts I checked the DVLA website to see if there was some place that you could search on a registration plate - I didn't see anything. So how do you guys do it??????? I'd also be interested to know if my old car is now parts or still on the road, so any info you can give me on VVF 90 H would be good.
Failing to find my old car didn't stop me, I found a complete, but non-runner that had been standing for 8 years and I've just finish a 4 year restoration. Well almost, I still have a respray and interior to do.

Go to http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/index.jsp
Click on Vehicle Enquiry, click Next, fill in the registration number, choose Lotus from the drop down menu and all will be revealed - or not, as the case may be.

It might be worth including chassis numbers as reg nos. change from time to time. My +2 (chassis no. 328) had a brief excursion to Norway for a few years and came back with a new age related number. I have no idea what the original reg no. was....
