I was a mere baby. Can?t recall exactly what day. Maybe my first.
So I am presently at 16,142 days into my affliction.

Born, and brought home from the hospital (no seat belt (wtf)) in a baby!

I was 6 when my father mostly restored his (now my) Elan.
He passed when I was 14, but when I was 17 I found my passion with it and restored it again by myself (although that would not have been possible without the knowledge and wisdom of the people on this forum).
I just turned 18 a month ago, so I am probably the one of the youngest Lotusaholics... but perhaps not the most recently addicted
I'm too young to be saying this... but my how the years go by...

Thanks for sharing Benny and the Elan looks great. Hope you enjoy a lot more good memories with it.
Just showed my better half, who has an uncle down in Sebastian so not a million miles from you, she particularly liked the "before & after" pics.
You should be proud of what you have achieved, it is too easy to knock the youth of today. Well done.
Me, I came late to the both Lotus & elan ownership and have been kicking myself that I never got round to it earlier...
being a fan for 40+ years doesn't count and I guess the Caterham was tenuous. the Westfield even more so...
Too many other automotive dalliances and working away got in the way..
So currently at: 164 days.. Out of 19900 on the planet. Not a very good %
Cheers

I was ten - in the fifth grade - when my art teacher pulled up in an S1 Europa. BRG. I?ve been in love ever since. This caused a lot of family conflict because my pop was a Porsche guy through and through.

I've only owned Lotuses for nine years, but I first fell in love with them in 1977 when I saw an Esprit outside a movie theater where The Spy Who Loved Me was playing. I was age 9 and had never heard of Lotus or James Bond, and wouldn't know what either was for a few more years- but that low, angular, sexy shape was the most amazing thing I'd ever seen on wheels and it left an impression that's only got deeper over time.

I am 16 and am restoring a 26R replica and a plus 2 and also have an s3 DHC. Does that make me the winner?
The Elan is definitely a toy for any generation! I love them more than any other car, they are so cool. I can't wait to do some serious hill climbing in my 26R, I have been using a Dacia Duster this season
Best regards, P
