Club Lotus Show & Festival, Donington - 20/21 April 2013

PostPost by: trw99 » Wed Jan 16, 2013 2:40 pm

What would you like to see?

Who is going?

Taking your Elan?

I'm thinking of having a CLES stand, but not yet decided. It could act as a central meeting point for LotusElan.net members. I was also thinking it would be nice to have either a barn find or an Elan or Plus 2 in the early stages of restoration on the stand.

What do you reckon?

I'm anticipating being there for both days & this year, once again in my Elan.
Anyone have tips for B&B in the locality please?

I'd like to see a couple of well prepared racers, say a nice 26R & a really hot Modsports.
The Modsports would really steal the show!

Cheers
John

Don`t forget that in the UK, and Donnington is, the 21st is the National Drive it Day where classic car owners are encouraged to use their cars.

How many "n"s in Donninngtonn? Tim knows.

Not having been to CL show for a while I'll try to put in an appearance on the 21st, we'll be in the land of the Elan Supersprint all the preceding week.

I would like to see: a genuine 26/R, a genuine Elan BRM and an a genuine Sh.....

CLES stand sounds a good idea, in the past we've lacked a focal point.

Only one built, and that's still orbiting the planet with a weenie skeleton monkey inside.

Just booked the Donington Manor Hotel for the Saturday night, Mrs T doesn't do cheap :? We are just bringing the Supersprint, unless Spyder take it off my hands for the weekend in which case the +2 will be method of transport.

Hope the weather is good for you Pete, late April can be very nice in the Eastbourne area. Remind me nearer the time and we will try and sort G&T's on the beach.
Kindest regards

I would definitely be going along but I can't find any information about this on the Donington website
or am I just a bit dim and looking in the wrong place?

While we are the subject of being a bit dim what does CLES mean?

Cheers,
Dave

Hi Dave,
CLES stands for Club Lotus Elan Section of which Tim Wilkes (TRW99) is one of the main organisers for Club Lotus.

For information on the show and more details about CLES take a look at the Club Lotus website http://www.clublotus.co.uk/ and more specifically at the show details here http://www.clublotus.co.uk/events/Club-Lotus/club-lotus-show--festival-2013.aspx

Club Lotus is well worth joining if you aren't already a member, the magazine alone is worth the membership fee.

regards

Alan

Hi that's quite frightening news, that will mean loads of traffic & no overnight accommodation!

Please confirm that the dates are an actual clash please (someone)

Cheers
John

http://www.btcc.net/html/generalnews_detail.php?id=3127 It's a provisional calendar, so might not happen.

Many thanks Alan!
Accommodation now sorted let's hope the show will be full of interesting stuff & that the weather permits a comfortable drive to the Midlands.

Cheers
