Lotocone Anxiety

The lotocones that are on the car are in good shape (as they were replaced some time ago)......except they aren't fitted to the shock shaft the way the originals fit to the upper spring and shock retaining plate. Should they be replaced?
To clarify this the bottom opening of the lotocone is wider where the shock shaft slides through the mount.
