Elan Sprint Webers

PostPost by: silverlink » Sat Jan 25, 2014 4:37 pm

Hi,
Can anyone tell me of a good Weber restorer in the UK, I'm presently restoring my Sprint which I've owned for over 40 years and I could do with getting the Webers refurbished. This project has been on-going now for too many years so I'm having it finished by a professional restorer. As the car hasn't been started for a few years I'm sure there'll be plenty of other things that need doing.
Cheers

I spent too much time fiddling with old webers and finally spent the money for new ones ....set them and forget them ....I thought and then found that ..carbureter is...French for leave them alone..Because its probably the points closed up causing the problem ....ed

These people are just down the road from me and although I haven't yet used them, they have a good reputation.

ok ... first check that your distributor points are fresh and properly gapped and the engine timing is correct ..your cam timing is spot on and your valves are correctly adjusted ...its all to easy to blame the carbs and it rarely is the problem. I would suggest put it all together and see how it runs first .fwiw...ed

Is that for the pair? If so it seems like very good value, especially compared to the prices quoted by the company I mentioned above.
