TTR exhaust - TTREX 007

PostPost by: europatek » Tue Jul 12, 2016 2:40 am

Hi there. Does anyone have some photos of their S4 fitted with this TTR muffler?
I'm interested to see how it looks in the bodywork, know how easily it installed and how it sounds? Does it mount to the original mountings? Is it very loud? Thanks.

Hi

Im running one with my twink.

Sounds great and I dont think it is too loud. I did a sprint in it last year and it noise checked at 91 db at 6,500 but for roard use I thin it is fine - its only when you really hoof it that it gets loud.

I have the big bore and the engine breathes really well with it.

Just out for the day now. I'll see if I have any photos when I get back

Gavin
One day I'll actually finish - completely - one day....

I have this TTR on my S4 (complete fast road system) : it's not as quiet as the stock system, but bearable on the street (provided you don't rev up too much). It also helps to add lightness : I removed my autoradio...

Installation was easy :

Thanks guys much appreciated. Do you have a photo looking from the rear - of the whole rear of the car?
I just want to see if the muffler looks "right" in the cutout - not too big, too low, or out of proportion.
I already have a 2" pipe feeding the original muffler and want to get a 2" muffler to finish it off. This TTR item looks like it might be the one.

Thanks guys. My muffler arrived today and I've started to fit it up which seems simple enough except the rear mount which needs to be compact so I can ensure max ground clearance. I need to joggle the main pipe also to line up with the muffler inlet.

My lowest point is close to the gearbox (5 speed, so some fettling was done to turn around it), not at the rear.

My muffler arrived early in the week and I set about fitting it up. All but done now apart from joggling the pain pipe to line up. I tried to tuck it up as high as possible as the standard one would ground occasional and this one is larger all over. I managed to reorientate the doubler plates to provide the new mounting locations and cover the old holes - win/win! Now I have a full 2" system ready for my 1700cc stroker engine.
