This was the picture I had in mind. Good to see the old memory hasn't given up completely.

As pointed out above, there aren't that many bits to put together. Clearly Dr Hammerton was a bit of a novice at this if took him most of the weekend to put the kit together.

A nice touch with the same period AA key - I've not long since thrown my dad's away not realising how useful it could be!

I take it that the pressure gauge is for the nitrous?

Hmmm, that kit car will be rather noisy with only half of the exhaust manifold and no Y piece.

:D :) 8)

Looks like it has the y piece attached to the 2 down pipes which will have connected to the 4 to 2 cast manifold of the time which I am not mistaken will be on the far side of the engine and not visible

cheers
Rohan

I wasn't aware of the 4 to 2 cast iron manifold, never having knowingly seen one 8)
But I see that it does exist on the exhaust systems parts list. :?

The kit was just a dodge to avoid paying purchase tax on UK sales. Re battery labels and decals generally, if you are handy with Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator you can create your own. There are quite a lot of online vinyl sticker services. We make all our own signage for restorations this way. You do need a good photograph and the dimensions, of course.

The ebay item is from this shop. They have a good collection of this kind of thing and seem to add to it reasonably frequently. There's a specific section for Lotus, Lucas, etc. I've got a few of their stickers.. I can't be absolutely sure that they are faithful as I didn't have an original. I also bought a mixed pack of "seconds" to decorate a kids toy some while back

The photo shows the car with the suspension & diff already installed. It took a friend & I one weekend to build my car. The hardest part was installing the engine & gearbox.
