Tachometer troubles

Well....today I have tried to test the new spiyda board, step by step as per videos.
I have absolutely no movement on the tacho when connected. As advised, I swapped over the black and reds as shown but nothing!
I have checked all I can with a meter and full 12 volts is getting to the board via a good battery. The Hz signal from my laptop was also connected at full volume. Has anyone had this problem?
Any suggestions as to what to check further would be appreciated.
