Norfolk nails

Oh, the things which look like black plastic rawlplugs into which is inserted a cross between a screw and an annular ring shank nail which are used to secure various fitments into plastic Lotus bodyshells of a certain age and which have become known as 'Norfolk nails' after the location of the factory in which they were used in considerable numbers :)

The new Yamaha ones are best built, Subaru and Volvo also have nice ones.
The generic cheapies are rubbish, may as well use disposable.
Born, and brought home from the hospital (no seat belt (wtf)) in a baby!
Find out where the limits are, and start from there

None on my car as far as I recall. Weren't these introduced in the 80s or 90's? Certainly after the Elan was out of production...

Those are the guys!

I would ideally like something which looks like the original nails rather then the modern scrivets.

....I'll have a chat with Sue and see if she knows of anything

I had a couple missing and iirc I used some that have a push only top which is almost undistinguishable once in place, like the ones to attach the windshield to BMW series 6 fairing

If the fit is right they hold quite tight, soapy water may help to get them in - protruding remnant may be cut flush with a razor blade if need be. One might be able to take them out by pushing the central locking rod all the way through, with a filed flat nail of just about the same diameter, but this does not always work.

I don't recall if I got them from Sue...
