I have bought heated windscreen for a TVR 1600M which i think is the same as a plus 2 elan from "UROGLAS".

Uroglas were mentioned in this thread but the current website doesn't give any details...

If anyone is interested the US shipped price for the +2 heated screens above (Ricky Evans Motorsport) is as follows:

Clear and heated windscreen - Door to door (to Nebraska) 503 UK Pounds fully insured and shipped.

My guess is that this is DHL Express.

Yes the wires are embedded in the lamination. I fitted a rear window version of this product and it must have adequately sized wiring and a relay to prevent a fire! The load is much higher than the original heated unit. I haven;t measured it but it must be in the region of 200watts/25ish amps. In addition it has a wider black edging which shows beyond the seal (at least on the rear window), much like a modern. This covers the edge of the headlining and is not visible from the inside of the car.

After 10 years it is showing sign of water ingress into the lamination (milkyness) in a small area, probably because the seal against water in the +2 rear window is so poor allowing water to be in contact with the laminated edges. Then again, my car has not been under cover for 10 years, so in typical use this is probably not a problem.
