But not with this plate and provenance:

It's so good to read the words of our recently-departed friend John Pelly, aka Grumpy Bodger.

Just digging up an old thread, but is there a chance that a "holbay" one is still available? Cheers Ted

Yes Dave would be interested in one, machined for a wet sump.
Just keep in touch.

I know it must exist somewhere on the archives here about a replica BDA cam cover for the Zetec engine which is already in production I think it was priced at around ?250. There are also special plug leads from the same supplier.
If it's of any help, I know that Mark (elanintheforest) was the man who mentioned them on Elan.net
An absent friend pointed me towards this Elan.net thread which is the one I was referring to:-

Stop teasing me Pelly! You know I prefer my Zetec "Lotus" engraved cam cover inspired by the one you had made. No need for tarting up with a fake BDA cover.
Are you really not here any more?
Kindest regards

G'day Dave
Any chance of a Mk1 (LOTUS down each bank) with no filler cap spout (or blank/sealed filler spout with original OD) in Magnesium?
It would also have to sport the original timing chain chest profile (ie no raised pad) !
Cheers
James

Hi James
I am actually visiting the foundry tomorrow to take pics of the patterns with a view to getting some magnesium covers cast at a different foundry.
I'll keep you posted on progress
Cheers

Sounds promising.....
Dave, for your interest, I'm involved with casting and machining wheel castings in magnesium here Down Under. We're using a foundry in Tullamarine that Kevin Drage recommended to us. We achieve quite consistent and uniform results, we have had one complete fissure through near the OD of one casting though.......
