As usual I can't leave well enough alone. Decided to have the weber's rebuilt (sent them off to Pierce Manifolds in CA) as they hadn't been touched. Also did a compression test with 180 across all four cylinders (+/- 1 psi) as a couple of people have asked. Once the carbs come back and reinstalled and tuned, the Elan will be ready for summer driving weather.

I'm downsizing and selling the house. Time to sell the toys. Price reduction on the 1965 Lotus Elan S2: $35K

See video I shot today of this car: https://youtu.be/BqCVmZCNaHA

Glen,

Love your car. Good luck with the new price. Suggestion - have you considered Bringatrailer.com? I think you can stand up to all the comments from the peanut gallery and possibly get a higher price than you are asking. It deserves it.

Maybe I was lucky.

I listed one of my cars on BAT a couple of months ago figuring for the extremely reasonable $99 sellers fee, I could put up with the BS from the BAT ?peanut gallery?.

My auction got over 10,000 views and had 700 watchers, and I sold the car for 85% more than my reserve! The winning bidder wired the funds to me within 48 hours of the auction close, and arranged for the truck to pick the car up within 10 days of the auction close.

Based on this experience, I?ll definitely use BAT the next time I sell one of my cars.

Personally I reckon if your looking to sell it quickly bat is worth a go. Yeah you'll have to deal with the peanut gallery but this car should stand by it self as great example.

There likely also be a few of the peanuts will be saying positive things about the car and your standards etc...
