An early S2, three tail light Elan offered for sale.
Mk II engine. Runs great. Gearbox, diff, donuts, all great. Rod end bearings on diff torque rods. Non-servo brakes with stainless flex hoses = rock hard pedal. Hand brake works!!!
PLUS..original engine sn 2041 INCLUDING ADDITIONAL WEBER HEAD needing overhaul/assembly. Crank and 2nd set Webers missing. Have 1 6 bolt crank.
Alternator and 60 Amp ammeter, halogen headlights plus Cibie driving lights in the mouth so you can flash without waiting for the headlights to come up. Rust free vacuum pods! Battery cut-out switch. Oil temp guage.
Brand new Panasports and brand new Vredesteins. Plus a rear sway bar, new ball joints and rack ends up front.
Electric fuel pump along with a custom airbox to fit a K&N air filter for the Webers. Fiberglass gas tank. No rust debris?ever.
Electric cooling fan.
Good original chassis with solid shock towers.
Crack-free two-part Urethane paint. Not show paint but very good. New mirrors in and out.
Excellent early +2 seats on +2 rails. Excellent door panels. Chrome trim has some pitting. Plastic side windows, lighter but not as clear as glass. Crash pad good except small flaw by driver?s knee. No glove box. Fab one or R.D. Enterprises has them.
Issues: Weather seals needed if you want to drive in the rain. Soft top rear window is amber, not clear and the cantrails are serviceable but unrestored. Spare tire is only just OK on a steel rim. You might need pedal rubbers for your safety check. Glove box missing. Headlamp lift knob discoloured. Windshield frame to body seal imperfect.
Moving and must give up Lotus habit.
Car has only done 20 miles since rear arches restoration/paint/wheels. Will need a shake down drive.
Learned gentlemen of this site see it first before e-bay.

Looks like a bargain - I don't think you will be without the cash for long...

Thanks for the encouragement. But it didn't make my reserve!!!
I'll try later once the toy budgets have been unfrozen. But they said the recession was over!! Maybe paint the bottom "lip" black per other thread.

I know where there are two S2s, one in pieces and the other intact (one piece) but needing a total rebuild ...
in my garage and in the backyard.
Always hoping to getting down to working on them.
