Lotus Elan

Joining the club

PostPost by: professornobles » Fri Mar 03, 2023 10:24 pm

I have just joined the lotuselan.net site. I have been asked to introduce myself.

I am the chairman and CEO of several medical device companies and an avid car collector, I have more than 150 cars in my collection primarily Ferraris and I own several Lotus race cars which I have races int Europe and the US. I also own an Elan and I am looking to purchase a project that is currently advertised on the site.

I look forward to accessing the knowledge and information in the forum groups to learn more about my Elan.

Professor,

Welcome on board.

I had a quick look at the YouTube video of your collection, nice, but no where near enough Lotus on display.

I suppose the Elan purchase is a case of 'You've tried the rest, now get the best'. Glad to see you are putting the balance right, and good luck with the restoration.

Welcome to the forum
Stunning collection. You really love your European cars. (Did not see any American)
If you are needing Elan advice you have some of the most knowledgeable people on the planet here.
Elans are very well supported for parts especially in the UK. There are also some very respected specialists over your side of the pond that can supply parts should you need them.
We will be intrigued to find out how you compare the Elan to other cars you have.

Anthony,

Welcome to elan.net.

Looking at the project Seewin is selling (here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=51889&p=381759#p381759), it is the basis for an excellent restoration. Have you managed to secure it yet?

You write that you already have an Elan in your collection, which I am sure we would also like to know about. One thing I would be interested to know is what your view is of the Elan compared to some of the other drivers cars you have in your collection.

As I am sure you are aware, the Elan still garners praise for its ride, handling and performance combination, 60 years after it was revealed to the world. It still gets ranked as one of the all time great drivers cars.

Good luck!

Tim

Thank you for your message, I have been trying unsuccessfully to reach this seller, I wish to purchase this project, can anyone help me contact him? I have DM him and posted my contact info for him to contact me without any response.
