A Vancouver Elan....

Thank you for that Graham.
A nice surprise.
But a minor correction - The event was at Ladysmith on Vancouver Island BC (Canada's political Lotus Land).
26/0538 is a 1963 Elan 1600 that I purchased new from the factory and still drive a lot even 'tho I'm on the sunny side of 80 tears old. We are off a 3 day rally covering the north end of the Island in 3 weeks time
The event, the Brits On The Beach, was held July 9th at the waterfront park in our town - there were over 200 British Cars on display (no judging/awards) everyone was there just for the pleasure of it.
There is a S4 coupe here in town - a well kept runner - for sale if anyone is interested.
Thanks again
Bill

'Vancouver' was a 'it's over there somewhere' geography statement.
My friend lives in Ladysmith. I visited him a few years ago. Lovely part of the world. In fact we took the family to the Island some years before my friend moving there and did the usual tourist trail for 3 weeks.

Hi Bill, I don't have enough posts to be able to send you a PM, but I might be interested in the S4 coupe. Please contact me or ask the owner to contact me at [email address removed by sm03Lotus]. Thanks!

Bill, an absolutely beautiful S1! I'm always in awe of people who buy a sports car and keep it for the rest of their lives. Bravo! Of course, when you own the finest handling car in the world there isn't really anything else to desire

You hit the nail right on the head as to the reason for keeping my Elan- and after 54 years of driving it, it feels like a comfortable old shoe - and is still a thrill to drive.
Thanks for your compliment
