Racing buddy is on vacation in the UK, asked for things of interest racing wise.. so I sent him to Donington Park & their F1 race collection... little did I know that they have a BRM Elan on display:

Is this the one that Matty was trying to sell a couple of years ago, or another one?

Is there a register? Or should there be a register?

Is it just the colour reproduction of the photo or is that colour just a bright orange rather than the 'get outta my way' polychromatic orange it should be?

Original orange was a fluorescent paint, and was very bright.

Alan Rigarlsford worked at Mike Spence and painted not only the BRM cars but many Elans which arrived from Lotus unpainted. Those were the days my friends.

Is the number of built BRM Elans known? It's just because I had a garage find last month, in dark green metallic, and I found bright orange color under the golden paint of the bumpers.

The number produced is reasonably well known.
Can you tell us where this car was discovered and have you any previous history? Looks like an interesting project.
