Wow! Just wow. Love the colours, but then I would. Interesting build. I hope it turns out how you want and not how others expect it should.

Do you have a "power bulge " on the bonnet ( hood ) ?

John

Yes, the bonnet has the bulge. Although not quite enough with the larger 2" SU's. We have to do a slight modification to the carb to fit.

Certified Lotus wrote:It's coming together nicely Kevin. The car looks great! Now that the engine is in things will move quickly. You should easily have it on the road by early spring ;-)

Looks like you have the TTR radiator and swirl box. I have the same with one electric fan and the engine never gets too hot.

Brings back memories of my Elan S1 project two years ago. (Now I'm knee deep into a Europa rebuild).

What is the red car in your garage on the left?

Glen

You are correct. There are quite a few TTR bits on the car. Quite pleased with their products. The car to the left is a Dino.
Good luck with your Europa rebuild!

Thank you so much. You pretty much summed up the goal of the project.

Car really looks sharp.

My S4 is also coming together after 14 years with a concerted push over the last year. I will still need a paint job though.

You mentioned in an earlier post some dyno work. Wondering what the curve might have looked like especially with the SU's that are not so common on the twink. This apparently is an Omnitech engine. What spec of cams did you end up with?

Again, looks great.

Thank you!
Dyno work has yet to be done. Still in assembly mode. It is a "Stage 3" motor from Omnitech. Cams 440/250 duration OM-440
Good luck with your project and keep the momentum going!

I don't know how I missed this thread for the past year!
I live not far from you-as the crow flies-in Tsawwassen B.C., I may come down for one of your C&C meets.
I am in the midst of a similar rebuild but on an S2 that was already modified when I got it so I am just continuing...

I know John at Omnitech well. I bet he was surprised to see SU carbs! At two inches they might be a bit big I would think but they they can easily be changed to smaller ones if required.

I'd be interested in the outcome of the Omnitech 440 (had contacted them a while back but never got any details, so I'll go with Newton similar profile)

Thank you. Added a little lightness by removing interior door handle and replacing with a strap ala Porsche rs

Very nice! Looking forward, like everyone, to final shots.

Where did you source the SS muffler?
