Dzus fasteners

A few years ago I saw a Elan that had a particular type of dzus fasterner to secure the hood (bonnet). They were mounted on each trailing side of the hood. They were recessed about an inch, so the actual "tabs" were below the surface line. Riveted in place on the topside, I believe was sort of triangular shaped, three rivets one at each corner. In the trailing corners of the engine bay were machined (hand made) pieces of aluminum that had the dzus wire. Does that sound like a 26R piece?? Hope that description leads me to a source for them.

Mike,
It was not a 26/R item, however it was a very neat solution. Somewhere I copied the photos, the guy who owned the car is no longer on the forum. Incidentally, I don't think the fasteners were made by Dzus.
...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....... found it..........
The file-name I saved it under was Oddie Pins, which may mean something, assuming this is the item you were looking for.
iirc, the owner of this car was also in Calif. I searched for these things in the UK but drew a complete blank.

I have these on my S2 bonnet, I will ask the previous owner (also on this forum) where he got them but I had thought theiy were Dzus fasteners with a "wing" attached to the top to open them.
I will take a pic for you.
nb - does this make mine a 26R.....?

I had an S2 Europa that had those "Triangular" fasteners to hold the engine cover on.
The were pressed stainless steel but the fastener was cadmium plated with just a screwdriver slot.
They did look very neat!
Maybe the Europa guys may know more???

In a previous lifetime I always used Oddie fasteners for simple fixings for cabinet sides and doors for easy access for maintenance on industrial equipment. Dzus fasteners are slightly different, but the principle is the same.

I have the recessed hood pins installed on my S4. Sourced from Dave Bean.
When are you coming down this way?

Duh.............thats where I saw them, on your car. Last check was that the Beanery did not have any. Ken is researching. Tons of places to buy the fasteners themselves but none that I have found that matches the recessed holder.

Brian, I tried the cbsonline.co.uk site but my computer blocks it, says it is a "alcohol and tobacco" site???? Or is that typical of most UK parts suppliers?
