Anyone have or might suggest a source for another differential (R and
P) housing?
What are the doner cars?

thnx

Steve

You are probably in the wrong country for the diff unfortunately. The
diff rear alloy housing was Lotus unique. The nose and internals were
from common English and European Fords of the period - Anglias,
Cortinas, Escorts. Unfortunately not many of these ever sold in the US.
Did the Pinto in the US use a similar diff ?

Try this guy out in Vancouver:

***@***.***

His name is Mike and he has a lot of Cortina parts. He should have a
3.9 diff on hand.

Steve,

I think I have a spare diff unit from when my car was fitted w/ a
limited slip, if this is what you are after. The diff is from an English
Ford, commonly a Cortina.

Roger

I believe Steve was looking for the Lotus housing not the diff. Do you know
what ratio your diff is? I am looking for the "taller" 3.55. If it is a
LSD all the better. Let me know ratio and what you want for it.

Ken,

You misread my posting. I have the differential, which is what it
sounded to me that Steve was looking for. I have this because one of my
Elans was fitted w/ a Salisbury LSD many years ago and I have the diff
that was removed when that was done. I have a 3.55 that will go into my
FHC when it is restored. It is NOS and just the CWP that I will have to
install in a punkin.

Steve,

I may also have a complete 3.90:1 punkin, from a Cortina, that would go
right into your Elan rear alloy housing, but I'll have to dig to find
it.

Roger
