3. gear missing

hi !

i have been looking at a 130/5 73?, the owner says the the gearbox at
first was hard to get info 3. gear, (syncro?) but then sudently while
driving the 3. gear was missing totally, the box have been opened but
nothing seemed wrong ? - and then the car has been sitting Without
engine/trans since.

The splines on the inside of the 3rd-4th syncro hub sliding ring are probably stripped at the 3rd gear end. That in itself shouldn't be difficult for a person familiar w/ gearboxes, but once it's apart, there will always be other issues. But still, I wouldn't let this keep me from buying it.
