The S1 GTS is almost ready for MOT and UK registration, a few finishing touches and ready to go...can't wait to drive!

Thank your for the update, I always enjoy seeing the photos / reading the results of your efforts.
Did the MoT folks make a fuss over having a noisy, souped up car (how many dB ?)...or not having a rear number plate light ?

I have been following the build with interest...and have lots of questions!
With respect to the MoT test, how did the tester find the levels of noise and were there any observations that might be of help to other restorers (headlamps ?) ?
How loud is your car / type of exhaust in dB ?

The Elan was MOT tested by a garage nearby the team who rebuilt it for me so cant really comment on the details.
The car has a TTR race exhaust on it and I haven't had it noise checked yet.
I think it is possible to road register an imported car here now without and MOT and this car is also exempt from future MOT tests so that's it forever!

The car you spotted is an original 26R - I think the headlights are oval 26R ones with dark seals around them, maybe Elise ones, not sure!

David, I?m in the midst of restoring an original hard top for my S1. Do you have pictures of the fittings you used to hold the front of the hard top to the windscreen frame? My hard top has two of the three original threaded bolts but they are so delicate I fear they will come off at any time. I?d also like to see the trim area of the window openings as mine is a combination of aluminum trim and rubber molding to seal the window.
By the way, if your car is 0339 it must be an S1, not an S2 and also Bourne body ? I?m confused as the headline on this post says S2 (unless 0339 is one of your other Elans?)
