Pedal box flood prevention..

Although scrupulously sealing the flanges of the pedal box will (mostly) prevent water dripping into the drivers footwell, the pedal box floor still pools when it rains or you wash the car and will rust and drip. I made a small ' dam' from closed cell foam which diverts rainwater away from the pedal box..See below. Simple and works well..Tony

Mark, it goes on the firewall, just in front of the rear edge of the pedal box , attached with a bead of silicone or PU sealant .Here is a photo: awkward to take a good one this location..! Hope its now clear.. Tony

Thanks Tony. My ideal box has drain holes in the bottom corner of the side that allows water (and brake fluid) to drain from that area of the pedal box.
My cars had limited exposure to rain so not sure how effective they are. Did your pedal box have those?

Yes, there is a drain slot, but nonetheless, there was always a 'pool' of water on the floor of the pedal box..With my 'dam' there isn't anymore. Tony
