Rev counter repair

PostPost by: Johnny America » Thu Jan 04, 2024 11:07 pm

Trying to ‘bump’ this previous post on the Smiths rev counter repair.

Have any other members installed the clocks4classics Smith rev counter repair module? https://www.clocks4classics.com/tachome ... tails.html

Seems to offer a sensible upgrade where the original rev counter is not working.

Anyone had any experience of this option?

I have recently installed this module in my +2. Installation and calibration are easy and I am highly satisfied with the result. Needle is steady and follows engine rev's well - will now get one for my Cortina GT 500.

I installed one just before Christmas in my +2. It was pretty straightforward to install and calibrate and the rev counter is better than it has ever been in the 40 years I’ve had the car!

I have just ordered one. Maybe finally I will have a tach that reads correctly.

I’m planning on ordering one too. The tachometer is becoming increasingly random!

I fitted one to my Plus 2 rev counter - it works now. It was reasonably easy to fit and calibrate. Recommended.
