I beleive some of you guys are enjoying the new Cinturato CN36 165VR13.

I was just hoping someo9ne might be able to post some pictures that they were happy with us using on our web site or in adverts?

I have them on my car but my car is far from a beauty queen paint wise so might not be good. So it likely close up of the wheels or distance shot where you can't really see the tires. Also don't really have any pictures already taken so would have to wait until next time I am out in it.

that will be great. it is not about shiny cars in my mind. I like the practical drivers car.

I will be placing an order for a set of Pirellis in the near future because the Michelin XZX FFs I bought from you are now seven years old even though they have less than 2,000 miles on them. I was amazed you were able to get the tires to me in California in less than a week. And with free shipping to boot! Your website is full of good information regarding tire sizes and inflation pressures. I'm a believer in using the original size tires for my Plus 2 (165x13). I have tried 175s and 185's on the car and have concluded the original narrower tire lightens the steering, provides more sensitivity when making steering inputs, and still provides plenty of grip when necessary.

I hope the Pirellis will provide the same experience as the Michelins.

Delighted with the Pirelli 165/13/82 Cinturato CN36 tyres I fitted last month. I think they offer a much better balance of handling, ride and ease of steering than the 175/70`s that were fitted when I purchased the car. For anyone interested, the ride height measured to the underside of the front cross member is spot on at 13.5 cm and the front lower wishbones appear pretty level. In saying that I do think my plus 2 has always been a tadge too high at the rear ?

Reading with interest as fresh tyres are needed on my recently acquired +2. Advice long ago was to stick with narrow and taller options rather than following the fashions starting in 1970s of 70 and then 65/60/55/ etc. As example, Longstone has a recommendation of 185/70 CN36 for +2, if "you like to fit a wider tyre" and state on "Lotus Elan Plus 2 they originally fitted a 165x13 tyre". Maybe some repeated misinformation, but the slightly wider 5" rim and a wider lower tyres have been referred elsewhere to as stock for a +2. Hence pleased to hear this alternative might well work, and even work really well.

Soes my writting give the impression that we recomend 185/70R13?

I hope it reads that we recomend 165R13 not 185/70R13.

However if you are insisting on fitting a 185/70 The Cinturato CN36 is the best tyre because it is an early low profile tyre that will diminish the derogatory effect of a wider low profile tyre.

Really sticj to 165R13 and the best 2 tyres for an Elan are Cinturato CN36 or XAS

I’m a couple months I’ll post pictures of 73 Carrera with CN36’s.
I will have them in an Elan but that’s a while away.

Apologies if I was sloppy in my reading. Thanks for clarifications. Can only vaguely recall your previous wording but the messages there on your website now is perfectly clear. Order placed, and I will work to post a few photos once tyres arrive and are properly installed.

After Dougal's last post I took another look at the tires I bought from Lonstone seven years ago and find them to be Michelin XAS FF and not XZX.

currently the Cinturato is an amazing price.If you look at the link above, it shows all the tyres available as proper classic car tyres in this sizes. (not the budget and modern tyres). I am afraid to say, i am having a visit from my friend at Pirelli in April and i know he is going to come and tell me the price is going up on some tyres and he has given me the impression it is going to be these smaller tyres.
