+2S Rear Parcel Shelf

PostPost by: Breezehill » Mon Jan 16, 2023 4:36 pm

My late 1970 +2S has the drop down rear seat, great to use as a large parcel shelf.

However the car was reupholstered some years ago and looks like whatever held the rear seat to stop it falling forward was left off.

So does anyone have any images showing the rear seat / parcel shelf and the rear seat retaining mechanisms

Just went out to the garage (it's cold out there!). There's two straps at both ends of the seat. The strap has a fastener that fits over a peg in the parcel shelf. The fastener has a button that releases it, and is marked "TENAX".

Draenog,

Excellent thanks for getting cold, the images are great help as I’m just refurbishing the parcel shelf replacing the old hardboard with marine ply.

Thank you

You may well find the rear seat backs have had the short PVC strap snipped off. But you should still be able to see where they were fitted? Tenax fasteners are pretty easy to find at many different suppliers.
Where, then, lies the answer? In choice. Which shall it be: bankruptcy of purse or bankruptcy of life?
