PostPost by: Cbruni5511 » Sat Jan 14, 2023 9:02 pm

Hi Guys! Just bought my first Lotus
It’s a Elan+2 1968/69 model. I believe urbanas exported to the US and it appears to be a Federal model.
The is in my collection in Brazil
Do any of know the make of the car radio fitted to this car?
Here is a picture of what is instlled

Looks like a Pye Major to me which is probably original to the car.

Yes I think Steve is correct.
Although it has some differences with my original radio fitted in my Jan 1968 +2 UK.
As shown in uploaded photo.

I managed to get the schematics to restore the radio.
Have a nice day

I’m trying to recall but I’m not sure the Pye radios can be disassembled easily (unlike the Turnolocks which can just be unscrewed. It’s probably got dried out capacitors. Good luck with it, let us know how you get on.

I’ve got a good vintage radio technician that has done a good job with other radios.
I’ll keep you posted!

In 2 days, that’s brilliant, did you find out what the fault was?
