69 Elan Plus 2- Both windows were non op. I was able to get the driver side window to work but unfortunately I need to remove the passenger side window motor. Being bad with puzzles I am having a really difficult time getting the motor out of the small opening. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. There's a pic in the workshop manual showing how the hole should be enlarged. I believe that's the usual mod to make life easier. But, the arm may not be at the right position for the standard aperture. If you can get it to work maybe moving it a bit may help.

If you need them I posted the pages from the manual in the body chassis frame forum last Thursday, in a thread re stuck windows.

Sean.

Chris, this thread with some pictures may help. Not sure if my window motor openings have been enlarged or not, but I was able to do both sides with what you see in the pictures.

There are a few more threads that may have additional helpful information. Note the motors themselves are readily available in NA as rebuilt units with a core charge if you need replacement. There is a hole in the arm where a temporary bolt can be inserted to keep the spring cocked while trying to place and bolt up the motor.
