Hi All some +2 help required,
The day started well fitted the badges on the front wings of the car (thanks Sue Miller)
took the car out parked 2 wheels on the curb of my mothers drive.
30 minutes later a woman came calling to ask who owned the Lotus, she had backed into it ########
Ok She could have driven off
Damage to the lotus it looks just paint damage down to the primer ( Scuffs ) .
I have no idea how hard she hit it damage to her car was superficial, mainly my paint on her bumper no dents.
Lotus drives ok . I took pictures of the cars and area.
The paint on the car was very good certainly didn't warrant a respray.
Any advice on dealing with insurance company.
Any repairers in Hampshire?
I would prefer to repair during the winter.
Thoughts please .
JD

The problem with fibreglass is it can flex in an accident and look OK but later on the real damage starts to appear with additional cracks and crazing.
Get it checked and repaired by a specialist and then you will get a warranty on the bodywork should any future issues arise.
Someone ran into the back of my Lotus and the bumper was repaired by the local Lotus body shop. I short while later some small cracks reappeared so the shop had to redo it all.

JD,
That’s terrible news, but at least as you say the other party didn’t drive off.

Unfortunately even a small scrape can be difficult to repair and match in, it’s definitely worth going to a specialist for a quote.

I can’t remember who mentioned this company to me, but they are in your area ( I think) and should be worth contacting. http://www.paintbarn.co.uk/

You may find that stress cracks appear near the damaged area over the next few days or weeks, depending on the force of impact.

Good luck, maybe post a couple of pictures of the damage?

Sometimes if you email yourself the picture, you can re-scale it, or the email program will do it.
