Hi Guys, do you have any tips on easily removing the petrol filler cap and tube( can the cap be replaced in situ) ? Regards Steve

Well I would not try to remove the filler cap in situ. You would have to tap the roll pin out, which may or may not be a tight fit, and that would put pressure / knocking on the rubber grommet which is hard up against the body which could induce stress cracks. Must be better to remove the cap and neck as a unit and do the job on the bench.

Hi. I would avoid tapping the pin out. I pressed it out and back in again with a vice and small socket plus other spacers - I forget exactly what I used now - I improvised. Tapping it out may result in damage to the chrome - yes ok that's what I did to my new one so had to reinstall the original. I don't think I'd try holding the vice over the car haha.
Incidentally, I did find a jar of sainsbury pesto was perfect for blocking the tube between filler cap and tank .
