Plus 2 MFP 667L

Hi all,
I used to frequent this site some time ago looking for an Elan Plus 2 S 130/5 I reluctantly sold in the mid eighties. Just thought I would try again as I am sure the site will have quite a few more members now. I was Regency Red with a silver metal flake roof and seals and as stated in the subject registered MFP 667L. I would really like to know what happened to it and if it is still on the road.

That’s strange, I have been on the DVLA website and it just tells me it’s a maroon Lotus but no other details. Much appreciate your answer as it shows it’s probably still around.

What a coincidence.
I was thinking of MFP 667L only this morning and wishing I'd bought it when I had the chance.
For me it's still the best colour scheme for a Plus Two and that includes the non original metalflake sills.
The interior and trim were factory fresh. When I didn't buy it the vendor gave it a thick blow-over in regency red with flat silver paint on the roof and sills and I lost interest.
Here is a print taken in 1988 before the repaint.

Thanks Simon, I was asking the same question a few years ago and you answered then and sent the same picture, many thanks for your reply though. I always thought it was a shame that they sprayed over the metal flake with flat silver as it was beautiful. I may be wrong but I seem to remember you were after a plus 2 in the same colour, did you find one?

I do remember. I have other photographs of MFP but that one was conveniently on display in my room.

I still have my tawny bronze 130/5 which I intend one day to paint in the MFP livery and my red 130/5 which I'm trying to get ready for Castle Combe. Sadly a whole month has been chopped off my recommissioning schedule as the Lotus track day has been brought forward to April 30th this year.

Let's hope MFP's current owner finds this thread.

Thanks Simon, very kind of you. It certainly brings back memories, when I owned it I changed the number plates to white and yellow as I thought they looked a bit brighter than the original but I see they were changed back to the traditional ones.
Hope you get your red elan sorted for Castle Combe, I have never driven that circuit.
