A far as the windscreen is concerned. You should check with Spydercars, but I don't think they have altered the fiberglass. (See photo). I'm not sure if they use a special rubber for the edge. All I know that it doesn't leak!
Hi
I'm fairly sure Spydercars use a rubber insert (check with them). It works much better than the original plastic chrome strip, and balances the car with the front and rear glass surround.

Thanks both, I'll check with Spyder. I don't see anything on their site about offering this as an item, but I'll give them a call and see what they say.

Incredible build,
The MX-5 seats look great - any issues re: mounts, did you custom build them or just do some cutting and fettling of the stock miata ones?
On the EFI - very neat installation - which ECU/programming did you use ? Any issues or tips - I am doing the same thing at the moment.
Thanks and congratulations on the build - enjoy.

Hi Nick
The MX5 seat's fit very well, I'm not sure if Spydercars modified the runner's, best check with them.
The ECU is by Emarald, and then setup on their rolling road. The unit sits just behind the glove box.
Tony.
PS best tip, money, not the cheapest thing I did to the car. Not to mention the cost of the heritage throttle bodies!!!

My thoughts exactly.
Thanks for the insight on the seats, given that the +2 floor is flat, i have some MX-5 to MGB plates that will probably make the swap easy.

I've just made a pair of ventilation slide knobs, in silver for the car, I didn't like the black plastic one's especially as they are looking a bit tired. They seem to work well with the chrome switch covers I fitted.

I made them out of bronze, only 0.5mm thick. The old look of the grey plastic wasn't nice. Bright chrome on the sides satin finish on the top. I can be a touch obsessive!!
It's what people pay me to make them, something obsessive.

Chrome moustache looks great. Any mounting tips appreciated. Just notified mine is in stock at Matty’s and will ship shortly. For others, they were on back order for a while, so now is proactive good time if you want one.

Hi
I don't know what the Paul Matty one's come with. But I put masking tape around the intake. There was no central joining piece so that needed to be made. I had to cut 5mm off each half, to get the fit right.
6, 3/16 stainless unf screws with thin stainless plates were welded to them, so that they slid inside the nose trim.
I carefully drew around onto the masking tape getting the spacing right from the bottom of the bumper to the top of the nose trim the same on both sides. I used dividers to mark the screws from the inside pencil line and spaced them evenly with a slight biased towards the ends. ( I did check my measurements several times before drilling!)
There must be a discrepancy in the trim or body shell or both as the left side(as you look at it) pulled down perfectly, where as the right side had to pushed quite hard to squeeze tight to the fiberglass ( I used my knee and a giant pencil rubber and leatherstrips for this).
I took my time tightening the 3 screws that side, I didn't want to crack the glassfiber or crease the thin stainless trim piece.
I believe that the Matty ones are brass chrome plated and maybe more pliable.
Measure twice, drill once!
Regards Tony

I assume it was a cost thing, when Ford made them?

Thanks Tony. I will see what I get from Matty. I had no idea there were different versions of the trim. I just took a look and can’t actually find the trim on the Matty site.
