Yup there are few nice cars on the market at the moment but yellow sealed the deal for me as soon as I saw it in person.

Yes it is. Did you see it? They had a few available at the time but this just caught my eye.

Thanks all... finally getting out onto the roads. First thoughts...

1. wow you really have to stay awake ... those brakes are easy to lock!
2. such a visceral drive, its electrifying and slightly terrifying at the same time.
3. is that faint petrol smell normal?
4. unbelievable how low you feel on the road...
5. people love these little cars.. only thumbs up and good vibes from passersby

Can anyone recommend a good fuel additive carb / fuel system cleaner? the car has not seen many miles of late Andi think a clean might do iii some good.... I've used Forte products before on recommendation for diesel cars.

Probably, but please check fuel lines.
from pump ( assumed mechanical on the drivers side of the engine) to carbs. This should really be modern hose and junctions. In my view Goodridge/Earls type stuff.
Check under the carbs for drips.
Check the pipe from the tank to the pump where you can. If it's plastic then it may be OK as they last a good while.
Check fuel filler cap for a rubber seal.
Use an airbox.

As for fuel additive, I use Millers CVL in the race engine, and although I continue to use Millers VSP in the road car, frankly I don't think it's worth it if you use fresh high grade , high quality fuel.

This would concern me. My car isn't easy to lock the wheels but I have unassisted brakes.

I'd suggest checking the tyre ages and pressures. Old tires tend to go hard and lose grip and over inflated tyres will lower your grip too.

Thanks … I was wondering about this. They are all Dunlop SP tyres - one is dated ‘12 and I couldn’t find a date on the others…. All look almost brand new.

A quick look on the forum suggests uniroyals or continentals?
