Mystery switch?

I’m wondering what this switch to the right of the clock adjustment knob was originally for! I repurposed it 40 years ago and now that I’m trying to restore the car back to original, I’m trying to figure out what it originally did. I don’t see it referenced in the manual or on the wiring diagram.

Any clues from the wires attached to it? Maybe a manual switch for the map light (to stop it flicking on and off?).

Didn't late cars have fog/driving light switches in that valence?

The map light has an integral switch so it turns on when you swivel it out. Don’t think Colin would have allowed the weight of a second switch for the same light. Grin.

The fog and spot lamp switches are under the steering wheel and match the manual

Agree if I could follow the wires that would help. But my younger idiot self decided to repurpose it to control the lights when the light switch broke and I was too cheap to buy a replacement and whatever it did I must not have missed!

Interesting idea on the electric antennae for the radio. The antennae it has isn’t that type, but I also think it may have been replaced by the previous owner. But per that suggestion I checked the boot and don’t see any wires for it. Merci pour l'idée,

The +2S could be subtitled "Just add lightbulbs". The thing is covered in them...

I'm inclined to think that it was something that a previous owner installed.

Translates geni’s comment. “ no I don't think so because I had identical on my old S130 (sold)”

So this makes me think it was from the factory, but only on a few cars and not documented in the manuals.

Has anyone else seen this switch?
