Early on, I was advised to reach out to the community. And I haven't been disappointed. All of you have been over the top informative.

Crazy good stuff if you just ask...

Hans.

The ad for the red one is gone now but I agree with pretty much everything said so far. I think the yellow and maroon are both overpriced, the maroon one egregiously so.

My car is a yellow 'rolling project' that has only recently starting rolling under its own power, mechanically quite sound but paint and body are beat and tired, very faded and cracked and need much work. I'd value my car around $10-12K.

You did mention one of the cars not having the rotoflex driveshaft joints. This is definitely a desirable modification on a Plus 2.

"Curiouser and curioser" as Alice in Wonderland said.

The red car previously mentioned has had it's ad pulled from Hemmings, but it is currently listed on Ebay for $19k. As SGO 2F mentioned, it sold on Ebay in August. The listing then had a whole raft of
fairly serious problems. I'm wondering if the current seller, who is a "private collector" had all of those problems fixed. (probably not......)

I'm quite interested in the Maroon car. Yes, it's too high priced. But if they come down some..... It also is listed on Ebay, but currently reserve has not been met. It appears to have some desirable (to me) improvements, like a modern aluminum radiator and axle u-joints. I'd like to find out a bit more.

I'm willing to pay a bit over market to get a well sorted car. Time constraints, as well as garage practicalities, make a rolling restoration project less desirable.

Anyway, I'm still in the hunt.

Hans.

I think the key here is not to rush in and be patient for the right car. The aim of having the car is that it enjoyable not a burden/stress on you. Unfortunately there aren't many around and even fewer come up for sale but it will pay in the long run to get the right car rather than the best of the limited available cars.

It took me well over 6 months to find my car and my criteria where a lot more flexible and I was fine with a project, which is what I got in the end!

A practical question:

The seats have a headrest. I'm 6'2", but long in torso. Would this headrest end up being a "shoulder rest"? I've been in cars where the headrest was too low, causing my shoulders to uncomfortably slump forward. My 308GT4 was that way, but fortunately the headrest could be raised. At it's fullest extension, it ended up being "neck rest".

I'm 6'4" and long in the torso, and they are shoulder-rests for me but not uncomfortably so.
