ONLY 130S FLASH

PostPost by: alan.barker » Thu Jun 18, 2020 11:09 am

When i had my last 1973 +2S130 of course the Head Lamps were the Failsafe ones.
One Vacuum Cylinder and Head Lamps held down by Vacuum.
A reminder this is ONLY for +2S130 models.
If you put the Head Lamp Dip Switch to High Beam(only not dipped) and pull the Dip Switch back it will operate the Vacuum Solenoid. This will raise the Head Lamps which is very handy with your hands still on the Steering Wheel.
I know i know you can pull the Light Switch in the bottom of the Dashboard.
But this is a second method to raise the Head Lamps and flash (+2S130 ONLY) which many owners do not know.

I can't comment on the flashing because I've not reached that stage of the rebuild but I can say with some certainty that Federal cars had a single failsafe vacuum unit.

Flashing is something Erica Roe did.

My August 1973 +2S130/4 was also Failsafe with one Vacuum Unit.
Talking about Erica Roe, were you there at Twickenham when she did her bare breast streak
She was the Barmaid at the Pub near Petersfield. I think to be precise the Pub was at Steep maybe "the Harrow" or something like that.
Those were the days.

I lived nearby at the time and remember the TV news vividly!
Memorable but sadly in the past.

Not very politically correct either.
