Hi Rohan, my thinking too, but would be useful to get it going, if anything so can take apart without having to damage bits tho carbs are a mess too. Get so used to 200k+ motors these days, my Triumph reminds me with 20k chains....

Hi Paul,
when i bought my 1972 Elan Sprint it had done about 68,000 miles so it was the time to strip Engine before any damage. I was very lucky standard size bores and a few Rings broken but no damage.
If your car is the same you can deglaze the bores and fit a set of original standard bore Pistons. You can get a set of standard bore Pistons very cheap from SJS sportscars or Miles Wilkins. most Twinks have been rebored and nobody wants them :mrgreen: . Fit a new set of Vandervell shells + Oil Pump. Job done.
