Colour choice for my Plus 2

Within a few weeks I need to tell the paint shop what colour I want my Plus 2. I have spent the past 3 years contemplating every colour under the sun (at least twice). I?m still not decided, I?m not concerned about it being an original Plus 2 colour, on my shortlist is a mid/light metallic blue a bit like the one below. I?m assuming this is not a Lotus colour, or is it? Anyone know what colour it is?
Also wondered about the Mini electric blue

You'll get as many opinions as you have replies to a question like that!
I am an originalist, so personally I'd always go with the factory colour. However, you're not fussed on that score, so the ultimate decision has to be yours (or your wife's ?).
It looks to me like the Plus 2 photo you posted is a standard Lotus factory Lagoon Blue. I suspect the colour has become distorted through reproduction.
On a different hue, I've always thought the Mercedes green (pine?) in the attached photo looks particularly well suited to the Plus 2.

The lagoon blue is a bit marmite in person, anything but bright sunlight it looks very dark.
Here is a video of a +2 (nothing to do with me just a youtube library video)

I had a 2002 Lotus Elise in Laser Blue - now that is a fantastic colour:
and when the sun catches it really glints too?
Eric in Burnley has an S3 DHC in a non standard metallic blue and looks gorgeous.

Thanks both, yes think you?re right about the lagoon blue, needs lots of light to stand out. The laser blue could certainly be a contender, might need to find one to take a good look at.

I would agree that Lagoon Blue looks dark out of direct sunlight, but then we`d both be wrong. It just doesn`t. it was my favourite in `73 and still is. Here`s a pic. I found in the shade.
The +2 in Lagoon Blue with a silver roof just looks fabulous, maybe one of the most attractive cars ever.

My former Turbo Esprit was what is just referred to as 'Dark Blue' in the paint code list in the WSM, but it's known to fans as 'Essex Blue' after the Essex edition TEs that wore it in 1981. This colour got lots of compliments everywhere I drove the car.

My Zetec +2 will need painting soon and it is not an original car so I can choose any colour. We're currently looking at light blues and the metallic blue that was used on Healey 3000s is looking as favourite at the moment. Gunmetal is another colour option.
My other +2 130/5 is Lagoon Blue/Silver so that is not an option.

One thing to remember is we have 7 shades of lagoon blue on our mixing scheme, you could of course use a light shade but even so it's darker than "Mid Blue" and has quite a dark cast to it too.
Personally i think darker colours highlight the curves / lines of the car more but as a painter myself i like Cirrus white just because of how low maintenance it is.
Have you thought about having having a flick through your painters colour variant books if you have a rough idea of what you want? if you don't have any idea what you want it might also just make things worse. If you do this i always tell people to start with Porsche colours (VAG group have some of the best colours on their sports cars)
